In „Keep Cool“ you are a „Global Player“ trying to implement economic interests of the USA, their partners or those of developing countries. Strong economic or political groups like the oil industry or environmental organizations may determine victory or defeat. With every move you have to consider the overall state of our climate verses your own interests carefully. The risks: droughts, floods and disease. The chances: prosperity and a stabile world climate. The winner usually is the smart, considerate player. To take the ruthless track for profit in order to win the game results most likely in failure, that is, everybody loses, a rather unusual twist. This game does open eyes and, as obvious as it is educational, it has all the exciting powers you expect from a good game.

Keep Cool is suitable for 3-6 players from 12 years up. Text in English and German.

The authors:
Dr. Gerhard Petschel-Held and Klaus Eisenack work in the department “Integrierte Systemanalyse” (Integrated System Analysis) at the “Potsdam-Institut für Klimaforschnung, PIK (Potsdam-Institute for Climate Research). The institute was founded in 1992 and employs approximate 120 scientists. Its research relating to climate change, climate consequences and long term development are recognized internationally. The PIK is part of the Science Society Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
